StorytiTme 3/30: The Neverending Story, Part 6
We’re continuing with Michael Ende’s The Neverending Story (English translation by Ralph Manheim). Atreyu’s been separated from Falkor and AURYN, and he’s in an abandoned city whose former inhabitants have jumped into the Nothing, except for one creature, a dying werewolf who isn’t actually from Fantastica and has been sent by shadowy persons unknown to try to stop Atreyu from saving Fantastica. In his death throes, the werewolf bit Atreyu’s leg, holding him fast as the Nothing closes in slowly from all sides. Things don’t look good for him or Fantastica … meanwhile, Bastian continues reading this very strange story from the human world, and it’s strange because it seems to refer specifically to him.
As usual, “late” storytime will either be a repeat of this, or something else, whatever people seem to want. We finished the book on teddy bears, so we’ll move on to something else from Jimmy’s massive book donation.
I understand that folks in Europe and the UK have turned their clocks ahead an hour, which we in the US did a few weeks ago, so storytime should seem to be back to its usual time.
The “Early” Stream for our friends in the UK, Europe, etc.:
11 a.m. EDT / 8 a.m. PDT / 4 p.m. BST/WEST
The “Late” Stream for our friends in the USA, Canada, etc.:
10 p.m. EDT / 7 p.m. PDT / 3 a.m. (the next day) BST/WEST
